Upgrade or Downgrade Your Account Plan

Upgrade or Downgrade via Your Customer Area

It's easy to upgrade or downgrade your hosting plan right from your Customer Area. For example, if you are on a Shared Tiny plan you can upgrade to a Shared Medium plan from your Customer Area dashboard, or you can upgrade to a higher level VPS than the VPS you are currently on.

Note: you CANNOT upgrade to a different package level, like from a Shared plan to a VPS plan, with this process. To do that, get in touch with our Billing department, and they'll take care of you.

To upgrade or downgrade accounts:

  1. Log in to the Customer Area: https://secure.hostnine.com/billing/clientarea.php
  2. In the Your Services section click Your Services
  3. Click View Details adjacent to the Product/Service you want to upgrade or downgrade
  4. ​Click the Management Actions tab
  5. From the ensuing dropdown click Upgrade/Downgrade

  6. From the New Product dropdown select the package you'd like to upgrade or downgrade to
  7. Select a billing term from the New Term dropdown

Once we've received your request an upgrade invoice (if you selected to upgrade, not downgrade) will be generated and you'll be contacted about your next steps!

Temporary Upgrades

If you need a temporary upgrade (to delete emails over your limit, provide extra space/bandwidth for an influx of hits, etc.) please be aware of the following rules:

  • There is a $1 minimum charge for temporary account upgrades for ANY type of hosting account (shared, VPS, Cloud, etc)
  • When a client upgrades an account temporarily (less than 24 hours) we will bill them for the cost of a day’s service at the new account level
  • This policy is effective for ALL temporary upgrades, including temporary upgrades to allow a client time to clear out their email
  • All upgrades that last longer than 24 hours will be billed at their full rate
